Mata Kong, was very impressed by Ngo Si Kui's violin playing skills and they became close friends and he even learned to play the violin from him. Later he introduced Ngo Si Kui to Te Kong, who accepted him as a student.
Tran Van Phong always treated his students as his children, he tried to support them in everything they did and develop their talents. Master Fong lived in very difficult times, and went through hardships in his life. Of his six children, five died during the smallpox epidemic and the daughter who survived also left this world long before him. Despite everything he went through, he did not break down and did not become disgruntled. He was always helped by his faith in Buddha and Bing Chun Kuan.
- During his long life Master Fong helped many people and educated many talented students, who could continue the tradition of the school. Even at the age of 87, Tran Van Phong did not stop practicing and working in pairs with his students. In each of his classes he trained ten young people and his powers did not diminish.

- No one managed to work him on the technical (quality) side of the exercises and techniques. Master Fong passed away in November 1987, but his students continue his path to this day.
